When I first started working in Yuna, there was a common feedback from users.

"I know this is a test app, but I love it.”

“For an app that is just starting out, this is incredible.”

They were right.

Back then, the product was built to be tested.
But eventually there was a shift that went from testing the app and understanding product usage to elevating the experience, delighting users in everyday interaction.

We believed that if we delivered a magical experience, people would come back everyday.
And make reading, a daily habit!

So we refreshed the whole UI, by refining component, and introducing animations, sounds and haptics.

We used Material Design System as the base and we went from there.

The result of this change was very positive. We had a significant increase in retention, families loved to use Yuna as their daily ritual and the feedbacks became something like:

"I can't believe this is a free app!"
