UI Refresh

When I first started working at Yuna, there was common feedback from users.

"I know this is a test app, but I love it."
"For an app that is just starting out, this is incredible."

They were right. Back then, the product was built to be tested.

But eventually there was a shift — from testing the app and understanding product usage to elevating the experience, delighting users in everyday interactions.

We believed that if we delivered a magical experience, people would come back every day and make reading a daily habit!

So we refreshed the whole UI by refining components and introducing animations, sounds, and haptics. We used Material Design System as the base and went from there.

The result of this change was very positive. We had a significant increase in retention, families loved using Yuna as their daily ritual, and the feedback became something like:

"I can't believe this is a free app!"
